WHO AM I?

Hi, I'm Kirsty! I'm an aspiring photographer and artist. I grew up in the North West of England in the small city of Carlisle, Cumbria. Growing up I was constantly doing something creative in a means of trying to define myself because as a child I wanted to know who I truly was as a person. I went through the stages of wanting to act, be a pilot or even join the army. But those short dreams were exactly that; short. I always fell back to art, drawing has always been apart of my life, ever since I had the capability to hold a pencil. But when I began my GCSEs at the Nelson Thomlinson School, I found that I really enjoyed photography. Inspired by the amazing photographer Skyler Greene, I decided I was going to save up my wages from my small job on a farm where I lived, to buy myself my first camera. That camera was a Nikon D3300 and the best decision I ever made I my life. I found a new part of myself that I will never lose. I want to travel the world and capture it through a lens and in my heart.

Currently in sixth form doing further studies into photography, art and media; I am looking into starting up my business and selling my works to the public as a way of sharing a part of my life and heart to the public. My work mainly consists of landscape photography however, I have began to contribute portraiture into my work. When it comes to my art, I usually stick to drawing portraits and landscapes using pencils and pens. However, I occasionally get the opportunity to paint and I try to express myself more freely with such instruments.

My future goals are to live life to it's fullest and enjoy all the time I have on this planet. After my studies I plan to cross the Pacific and live in the USA. I believe the move will provide me with more opportunities in this field of work that I will be willing to take. Once I am settled, I will travel to every national park the states have to offer and capture the essence they give to us within a travelogue. Once that time ends, I will travel to the neighboring countries and explore their cultures and beautiful places. I have always dreamed of going to Iceland so that will be on my bucket list too.  Depending on the success of my career after the creation of the travelogue, I will continue my travels of the rest of the world, with occasional visits and travels with my family who all support me fully and I am grateful for.

The thing about this field of work I will enjoy most, I believe, are meeting loads of new people, and creating many life-long friends from all around the world.
